Couples and Family Mediation

Multi Generation Hispanic Family Standing In ParkCouples and Family Mediation is designed for those stuck in a destructive cycle of conflict, often around a certain area – such as money, sex, or parenting styles.  Mediators with Genesis Mediation will seek to resolve the immediate conflict, then refer you to a therapist for other work, if needed.  Couples Mediation is short-term and solution-focused to resolve a specific conflict.  It is not on-going therapy.  Most couples arrive at agreement and break the conflict cycle within a month.  Conflict surrounding issues such as addictions or personality disorders will most likely require additional time.

Family Mediation involves conflict within family members, either by birth or marriage.  Destructive conflict can affect relationships between siblings, parents and teenagers, or adult children with their adult parents.  Blended families can create interesting challenges.  Dysfunctional family elements need therapy to bring healing.  Mediation can create action plans of how to operate within a family system, creating agreements and boundaries.
